Switchboard Operator Receptionist

Position Overview

East Kootenay Regional Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Switchboard Operator Receptionist to join their team in Cranbrook, BC!

Rotating days, evenings, nights, 07 : 00 to 19 : 00, 19 : 00 to 07 : 00.

Work up to 37.5 hours per week with shifts available on short notice or pre‑scheduled to cover leaves. Many of our team members start in casual roles and transition into permanent positions.

Responsibilities

This position operates the Switchboard, Public Address, and Pager systems; receives and directs patients and visitors; admits all patients during the evening, night shifts and weekends; receives, records and accounts for various monies owing; and performs various clerical duties.

Application Requirements

• A 5‑minute typing test (45+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months (non‑supervised tests not accepted). Click here for testing details.
• A Medical Terminology Certificate.
• Your Resume outlining two year’s recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on‑call, casual work (i.e. days of the week).
