Calian Health Services is seeking a Physiotherapist for the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre in Cold Lake, Alberta. The role involves providing comprehensive consultation, assessment, and treatment to military members through both scheduled appointments and walk‑ins, as part of the collaborative practice model. Priorities include maintaining the health and wellbeing of our military members and fostering a patient‑focused, evidence‑based practice.

Responsibilities
- Deliver physiotherapy and rehabilitation interventions using evidence‑based approaches and best practices in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and scope of practice.
- Manage a full orthopedic caseload of 12‑15 patients per day, averaging 8 new assessments per week.
- Provide assessment and treatment of neuro‑musculoskeletal conditions, primarily sports, training, and workplace injuries.
- Obtain and document informed patient consent with clear explanation and instruction.
- Conduct screening assessments, education, and straight‑access orthoses recommendations for CDU walk‑ins.
- Prescribe exercise programs to rehabilitate injuries, prevent recurrence, and promote fitness.
- Provide manual therapy and soft‑tissue techniques for neuro‑musculoskeletal conditions, scar tissue, muscle tension, circulatory disorders, and lymphatic problems.
- Utilize pain‑management techniques, including acupuncture (needling below dermis).
- Offer ergonomics education and on‑site workplace assessments.
- Educate patients and the health care team on injury prevention and health promotion.
- Perform biomechanical foot assessments, orthotics fitting, and fabrication.
- Contribute to physiotherapy clinic programs, including proprioceptive rehabilitation and back‑pain self‑management.
- Present cases in inter‑disciplinary meetings, attend clinical rounds, and schedule follow‑ups.
- Document clinical interactions thoroughly in compliance with CF and provincial regulations.
Qualifications
Current license in good standing from the province of Alberta.Minimum one year of experience in orthopedics or sports medicine, with one of the following certifications : Manual Therapy Level 1, McKenzie Part A, or Acupuncture (AFCI or Dry Needling).Valid Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate or equivalent (e.g., CPR / AED Level C).Additional Requirements
