Your Role
As a Key Account Manager, you'll manage various strategic customers to create organic growth within existing business units and / or into new business units.
Your Responsibilities
- Hunt and close new strategic customers (i.e., new logos).
- Manage the strategic customers to create organic growth within existing business units or into new business units.
- Responsible to know the decision and organizational layer of the strategic customer and marries Kuehne+Nagel management with strategic customer management.
- Fully understand the logistics characteristics of the assigned market and act as an industry subject matter expert.
- Create and manage the network of resources around a strategic customers.
- Determine the required resources within Kuehne+Nagel to capitalize on value creation opportunities.
- Responsible as the “primary” lead for the management of the strategic customer business plan.
- Meet or exceed business volume and revenue goals set by the company.
- Act as the single point for the selling of “all” Kuehne+Nagel services and solutions across all business fields (depending on customer, this may be in conjunction with a dedicated support representative from a given business unit).
- Drive the RFQ response for their assigned strategic customers.
- Conduct regular business review sessions and arrange at a minimum of one “white board session” (global discovery session) with their assigned strategic customers.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key contacts within customer organizations to understand opportunities for Kuehne+Nagel.
- Need to be the “voice” to Senior Kuehne+Nagel Management of identified issues before they become problems.
- Maintain close communication with customer and Kuehne+Nagel’s operations to assure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to operational solutions, timeline, costs, and results. Direct operational issues to the correct operational owner.
- Report in regular intervals strategic customer development.
- Constantly update their own know-how and skills and look for market / vertical information, activities, and development.

Your Skills and Experiences
Undergraduate degree in logistics or related business field.Experience with logistics processes, systems, and solutions.Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of logistics experience.Seasoned listening skills and good analytical skills.Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Self-disciplined, strong leadership and motivational abilities.Creative ability in developing sales strategies and solutions and in presenting innovative solutions to customers.Good Reasons to Join

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
