About the Opportunity
RDN has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Wastewater Superintendent , primarily based at the French Creek Pollution Control Centre on Vancouver Island, BC , servicing the Northern Communities of the Regional District of Nanaimo.
Reporting to the Manager of Wastewater Services, you will oversee the effective operation, maintenance, and compliance of the Department’s wastewater facilities, ensuring safety, regulatory adherence, and environmental standards are met.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for leading Wastewater Services staff to meet the strategic and operational goals of the RDN Board, managing the Department’s facilities, assets, and operational permits to uphold regulatory and environmental requirements.

More About You
To qualify, you will need an undergraduate degree or diploma in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering , or a related field, along with extensive related experience in wastewater or water services . Supervisory experience is also required, preferably within wastewater or water services, however supervisory experience in other industrial settings such as forestry, manufacturing or pulp and paper would be considered. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
