The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Regular Full-Time Security Operations Cloud Specialist

to join our dynamic

IT Strategy & Governance

team.

The

IT Strategy & Governance

team is responsible for ensuring that Canadian Blood Service's technology resources are used effectively and align with its overall business goals.

In this role, you will actively configure, deploy, and manage security solutions within the Microsoft M365 and Azure environments. You will work hands-on with Microsoft security tools to protect, monitor, and respond to security threats across our cloud infrastructure.

Formula for sucess

Using your hands-on experience with Microsoft security tools, you will implement, configure, and manage cloud security solutions that align with Canadian Blood Services IT Architecture principles.

Applying your skills cloud security engineering, you will actively deploy, configure, and monitor Microsoft security technologies, including Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, and Azure AD security services, ensuring robust protection across our cloud environment.

Utilizing your knowledge of cloud-based security services and tools, you will perform day-to-day monitoring, incident response, and threat remediation using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, Azure AD Identity Protection, container security, and other Microsoft cloud security services, as well as manage SSL certificates and renewals.

Drawing on your experience in project leadership, you will participate in and lead projects related to cloud security requirements, CNAPP design reviews, and security testing for Canadian Blood Services networks, systems, and other IT teams.

Leveraging your organisational skills, you will maintain up-to-date inventories of cloud security services and associated maintenance support contracts.

Employing your resource management expertise, you will make arrangements to obtain external resources when required, including preparing statements of work and other necessary documentation.

Using your skills in procurement and business analysis, you will participate in RFQ, RFI, RFP, SIP, and business case development.

What you can expect

This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time / 2 days of the week.

You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.

If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to our office location in Ottawa - 2540 Lancaster Rd, Ottawa, Ontario, quarterly for in-person team meetings when required.
