Description de posteChillers Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Refrigeration systems Energy management systems Instrumentation and control systems Secondary School Diploma according to provincial standards. Valid Saskatchewan 313A-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic or equivalent Inter-Provincial Red Seal Journeyman’s Certificate of Qualification. Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate. Assets : Confined Space certification, Fall Arrest certification, Standard First Aid and CPR certification, WHMIS and Workplace Violence training. Significant recent experience (2–6 years) servicing, installing, and troubleshooting refrigeration and air conditioning systems and components (chillers, air handling units, fan coils, packaged units). Significant recent experience operating Building Automation Systems. Significant recent experience troubleshooting, installing, and removing control systems such as Direct Digital Controls (DDC), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives, and process controllers. Experience troubleshooting and performing on‑board diagnostic tests of electronic and solid‑state devices. Significant experience monitoring and troubleshooting building heating and cooling systems (closed‑loop chilled water and glycol systems). Physical capability to perform tasks such as crouching, bending, twisting, walking, climbing stairs & ladders, hearing to diagnose mechanical troubles, and handling heavy objects. Reliability Status : Verification of background information over 5 years required. Solid knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning under current codes and standards. Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and equipment. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards and practices. Knowledge of control systems such as DDC, PLC, frequency drives, and process controllers. Knowledge of energy management systems and energy efficiency best practices. Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer’s specifications. Technology support - Client focus (Level 2) Technology support - Communication (Level 2) Technology support - Results orientation (Level 1) Technology support - Teamwork (Level 1) Preferred status : Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada. Willingness to work on‑call, nights, weekends, statutory holidays, and occasional overtime. Pre‑qualified list may be established for similar positions for a one‑year period. Role
We are looking for a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The incumbent shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing equipment for research labs and building heating and cooling systems. The mechanic provides repairs, maintenance and installation services for :
The mechanic responds to emergency situations, malfunctions and performs regular preventative maintenance. Duties also include complying with government refrigerant regulations and maintaining required records.

Compensation
From $74,200 to $80,144 per annum.
With HVA subgroup HVAC technician certification, eligible for an annual terminable allowance of $6,770.
