Tasks

  • Ironing and steaming costumes.
  • Delivering costumes to artists' dressing rooms.
  • Engaging in sewing or crafting projects as needed.
  • Ensuring the integrity and safety of all costumes and accessories, including emergency repairs, alterations, and mending.
  • Washing costumes daily when required, utilizing both, hand and washing machine methods.
  • Conducting daily inspections of costumes for any damage.
  • Maintaining a clean and secure work environment.
  • Assisting with the setup and breakdown of the wardrobe department, dressing rooms, laundry room, and stockroom.
  • Completing any other wardrobe-related projects and tasks.

    • Job requirements

  • At least three years of professional seamstress experience, including proficiency in costume repairs.
  • Proficiency with both domestic and industrial sewing machines, as well as hand stitching skills.
  • Technical expertise in costume construction, painting, shoe repair, millinery, makeup, hairstyling, or related theatrical crafts is advantageous.
  • Capacity to be proactive and independent.
  • Good health and clear eyesight are prerequisites.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing.
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 15kg.
