Equipment Operator – Quesnel, BC

BC Eco Industrial Services is looking for an Equipment Operator to join our chipping, grinding and Log Yard operations in Quesnel, BC. As a Sutherland Group company, BC Eco values team happiness, success, and growth. Join us in elevating and innovating the forestry industry.

Position Benefits

  • Wage $30‑35 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Permanent full‑time role.
  • Overtime pay after 8 hours.
  • Schedules vary depending on location of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Wheel Loader to move chips and supply chippers with logs.
  • Operate Log Loader to unload trucks, feed chippers, and down‑deck logs.
  • Feed pulp logs using a Chipper.
  • Maintain equipment safety, perform daily inspections and maintenance.
  • Operate other heavy equipment as instructed by site supervisors.
  • Travel to various job sites as required.
  • Uphold company policies, core values, and culture consistently.
  • Set up the job site, clean up, and remove materials.

    • Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years operating Wheel Loader, Log Loader, or Excavator.
  • Preferable experience using a Chipper.
  • Mechanical aptitude; perform basic daily equipment maintenance.
  • Motivated self‑starter with positive attitude and proven safety record.
  • Experience running other types of heavy equipment an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • Physically fit, able to walk uneven ground, chip piles, and log yard locations.
  • Team player willing to pitch in wherever needed.
