About the job :
Ensure employee Health and Safety through compliance with all safety and mine regulations and company policiesResponsible for ensuring proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipmentCoordinate open pit activities; loading, hauling, dumping and miscellaneous activitiesControl pit operations to detect violation of safety regulations and compile safety and production recordsAssist in work scheduling and planning, ensuring alignment to weekly plan deliverablesPrepare reports on accident / incident that happen during the shiftConduct daily pre-shift meetings to ensure employees are informed of safety and production issuesOrganize training for equipment operators to improve their competenciesUnderstand, promote, and operate by overall company vision, values, goals, objectives and strategiesProvide job specific instructions daily basis and monitor progressEnsure that all mining employees are properly trained on the use of appropriate equipmentCommunicate routinely and effectively with the Project Manager and other supervisors as requiredBuild and maintain relationships with all stakeholders not limited to but including Technical Services and Maintenance TeamsParticipate in the weekly planning process by providing inputs and highlighting any shortfalls within the plan that have the potential to disrupt operationsPerform all other related duties as assigned7 on / 7 off, rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights)What you need :
3-5 years' experience as a shift Supervisor, in an open pit, with demonstrated leadership competenciesMining or heavy industrial construction experience considered an assetPost secondary training in a similar fieldTechnical expertise : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookExcellent communication skillsDemonstrated ability to achieve results within a team environment with minimal supervision at timesHigh level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skillsAbility and willingness to work different schedules on site based on project needsAuthorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorshipWhile we appreciate all resume submissions, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
