Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer and Data Modeler with expertise in designing efficient database schemas, writing complex database code, and optimizing query performance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in translating business requirements into effective data models, developing and maintaining database objects, and ensuring optimal query performance through tuning and troubleshooting.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, NS is CAD $80k – CAD $90k / year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities :

Data Modelling (Highest Priority) :

• Build and optimize database schemas based on simplified but clear business requirements.
• Design Entity-Relationship diagrams, relationships, and normalization strategies.
• Example tasks include creating tables for job candidates and work history (companies, job titles, dates).

SQL Query Development :
