Description
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The Systems Designer is a key member of the Systems Development team and is responsible for working within the Island Health enterprise architecture and software development methodologies to define a system configuration that supports solution requirements intended to support the organizations strategic goals.
The Systems Designer works closely with the solution business analysts designers and developers to ensure that business requirements are fully supported by the system and align with the overall seamless nature of the regions business undertakings across disparate vendor or custom solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education Training And Experience
A level of education training and experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in computer science or health information science and a minimum of 7 years experience as a software developer with a minimum of three years experience with the Cerner Millennium system. Masters degree preferred.
A grounding in software development methodologies and a strong understanding of the Cerner Millennium system. Additional training / certifications in business processing including BPM and Lean architecture methodologies ITIL software development CMMI project management (PMI Prince) health informatics (CPHIMS-CA) is desirable.
