Our client is a Toronto-based firm that enters into strategic relationships with established financial institutions and alternative finance companies to build and scale investment portfolios. Position OverviewWe are seeking a Financial Analyst who has experience or is capable of managing a team of five who will work in various supporting roles supporting the success of this lending firm. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s financial management and supporting growth objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Financial Analyst / Manager will oversee the company’s financial analysis and operations, enhance financial systems and processes and, in a leadership role, supervise employees that support business functions.QualificationsUniversity Degree in FinanceWorking knowledge and / or experience with lending / loan productsProven financial modeling skillsExperience forecasting & budgetingExcellent attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving abilitiesExceptional communication and strong analytical skills.Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.Demonstrated leadership skills and / or experienceStrong technical accounting knowledge (ASPE and / or IFRS) an asset Key ResponsibilitiesLead budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with the CEO to set financial targets and meet business goalsCreate financial models from large amounts of data to track and forecast KPIs Generate and analyze portfolio metrics, risk, and performance analyticsManage tax filings while ensuring compliance with all local, provincial and federal tax regulationsMonitor, assess and maintain strong internal controls in a rapidly growing business to ensure prudent management of internal controls over financial reportingAssist with other projects and process improvement initiatives Lead and manage a team of five individualsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statementsEnsure financial statements are accurate, timely, and in compliance with accounting standards and regulations
