The Future in Trades program is a Linamar initiative that offers career development opportunities to recent or soon to graduate women interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades or technology. This initiative is eligible for the following programs Electromechanical and Automation Maintenance and Mechanical Technician and General Machinist.

Machinist :
The Apprentice Machinist position under continuous supervision is responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting various types of conventional or automatic machines including lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other precision equipment. Primarily accountable for working from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts as well as for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment.
Electrical and Automation :
The Apprentice Electrical position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of machinery and facility equipment. Additional responsibilities include following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications and use hand tools, power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment.
The Automation Technician works as a plant resource to assist with line improvements automation initiatives, and realignment of existing and new equipment to improve product flow. Working in conjunction with the Maintenance and Engineering departments.
Millwright :
The Apprentice Millwright position is responsible for performing maintenance and repair services of facility and production equipment such as mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Must be well organized and able to work under direct supervision.
Possess drive and motivation to maintain continuous learning from daily work activities.

Machinist - $20.00-29.10
