What you can expect from this position :

Reporting to the Manager, Resource Management Unit and day-of Manager Operations, Airport Flow, the Coordinator will manage and assign daily aircraft stand allocations, hardstand bussing operations, and remote aircraft parking and cargo operations; check‐in counter allocations to the various carriers; ensure Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) accurately display flight details; acknowledge air carriers schedule changes or delays via the Airport-Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) platform; respond to special requests from internal / external stakeholders and customers; ensure allocated facilities are used to maximum efficiency; and manage in various irregular operational plans, such as the Aircraft Parking and Staging Plan. The coordinator will continuously revise stand and counter allocation plans to accommodate operational changes and delays; assess and plan future allocation options; resolve potential allocation issues before they become unsafe or unmanageable; liaise with tenants, operational agencies and GTAA departments regarding facility allocation decisions; and assist in emergency response when directed.

As a Resource Coordinator, you will :

  • Revise stand and counter allocation plans to accommodate schedule changes and operational delays
  • Monitor and acknowledge operational delays, updates via the A-CDM platform
  • Confirm stand allocations are planned conflict free with respect to aircraft adjacency rules
  • Ensure Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) accurately display flight details
  • Validate and approve Night Flight requests
  • Assist with General Aviation / Business Aviation slot reservations via Online Coordination System (OCS)
  • Activate terminal wide messaging as directed
  • Use sound judgement and make key operational decisions on air carrier service issues
  • Assess and plan future allocation options
  • Liaise with tenants, operational agencies and GTAA departments regarding facility allocation decisions
  • Assist in emergency response when directed
  • Provide on-the job-training and guidance to new hires and colleagues
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a unionized position with an hourly wage of $, based on a 37.5 hour work week. The successful candidate must be available to commence the duties of the position once a selection decision has been made. A written test will be administered as a part of the competitive process.

This is the role for you, if you have :

  • Post-secondary education in a field related to Airport or Airline Operations, or an acceptable combination of education and / or experience in Aviation, Transportation, and / or logistics
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Airport / Airline Operations
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a safety sensitive environment
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
  • Confirmation of appointment to this position is contingent on the successful completion of the Resource Coordinator Training Program
  • Knowledge and skills you bring, that set you up for success :

  • Must have knowledge of computer applications including database, spreadsheets and internet-based software; and knowledge of industry terminology, city codes (ICAO and IATA), aircraft types, airport processes and passenger flows, counters, gates and stands
  • General knowledge of the topography and layout of Toronto Pearson airport including the aprons, taxiways and runways
  • General knowledge of terminal layouts and air carrier terminal allocations
  • Must possess critical thinking skills and sound judgement
  • Must possess diplomacy and initiative when attempting to avoid conflict or inconvenience to tenants and the public
  • Effective interpersonal and people skills
  • Ability to learn and utilize industry specific complex IT systems such as Gate Management software
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to concentrate and to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail while under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts of days, evenings, overnights, weekends and statutory holidays in a 24-hour environment
  • Ability to perform shift work in an atmosphere that may result in distraction and interruption of work routines
