Candu Energy is engaged in nuclear civil engineering work involving analysis and design of New Build Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) in Cernavoda 3 / 4 units in Romania. Civil / Structural engineers are required to perform structural and seismic analysis, seismic margin assessment, and structural design as well as prepare and issue analysis, design, and assessment documents.

Candu Energy Inc.is looking to hire multiple Civil / Structural engineers for full time term / permanent positions. The types of engineering work include structural and seismic analysis, structural design check and assessment of structures, systems, and components. Documentation to be produced include analysis reports, design calculations, design Reports, technical specifications, and design requirements. The candidate shall be familiar with the use of one analysis program such as ANSYS APDL, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI, LS-Dyna etc… The Candidate ideally shall have previous CANDU or other nuclear technology design and construction experience.

Your role within the team :

• Perform Static, Dynamic, SSI analysis, and structural design.
• Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and prepare design documents and compile engineering packages.
• Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs using ANSYS APDL, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI, LS-Dyna and other structural programs.
• Ensure Compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations, and ensuring the adequacy of design for permits and compliance with approved plans.
• Develop conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design.
• Prepare technical specification documents.
• Accountable for the delivering all engineering deliverables / task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.
• Provide technical instructions and mentoring to Junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.
• Review and comment on the work performed by the others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation.
• Check the work performed meets the quality requirements in accordance with Company QA programs and manuals.
• Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question.
• Prepare Engineering estimate and technical write-up for proposals.
• Accountable for the delivering all engineering deliverables / task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.
• Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.
