Department Profile : Brokerage is seeking an experienced and ambitious candidate to join their Electronic Communications Archive (ECA) Engineering squad. The squad is responsible for managing the archive solutions for all electronic communications in the firm, in order to meet the legal and regulatory obligations. This includes ensuring the archiving, reconciliation and retention of all messaging content such as email, instant messaging (IM), SMS, collaboration and social media content. The primary clients include Legal, Compliance and ITRFD groups that are responsible for managing the Firm's Litigation and Regulatory requirements.

What you'll do : This position is for a proactive and experienced site reliability engineer who has a strong background supporting mission-critical applications. The team member will work in an agile based squad with mixed skill sets and be an equal contributor in this environment. The candidate will work with infrastructure teams, application developers, and product owners in the firm. The supported systems are critical to the regular functioning of the firm and prior experience in a dynamic, real-time environment is desirable. One of the major responsibilities of the archive team is to ensure any platform with messaging components adheres to the Firm's compliance requirement. The process requires coordination between different stakeholders to achieve this objective.

  • Candidate must be well versed in mission-critical application and infrastructure support.
  • Experience with change / incident / problem management processes and ticketing systems such as Service Now.
  • Candidate must have background in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices and Agile experience.
  • Candidate must have strong technical experience in Linux environment, excellent troubleshooting skills, scripting skills (Python, Shell and Perl), experience with job scheduling tools like Autosys.
  • Candidate should be passionate innovator, willing to improve status quo and adapt in continuously evolving environment.
  • Candidate would also be responsible for the improvement, growth and evolution of the archive process, including process documentation, best practices, tracking, and scoping.
  • Candidate must be well organized, have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The candidates should be detail orientated and possess strong analytical skills.
  • They must demonstrate initiative, good judgement, be confident working independently and be comfortable handling sensitive, confidential information.

Primary Skill :

  • 10+ years of experience in an operations role in the Linux environment
  • Good understanding of application deployment, storage technologies, and infrastructure
  • Good analytic capability for application troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge about SRE principal.
  • Scripting capability (Shell, plus Python or Perl)
  • Working experience with DBMS such as DB2
  • Previous experience with change, incident, and problem management practices
  • Job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Skills Desired :

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of ITIL, with previous experience in implementing an following the ITIL guidelines
  • Experience with Agile methodology. -Experience with SAAS platforms.
  • Experience working with regulatory, compliance and / or litigation group within the Financial Industry
  • Vendor management skills with previous experience working with vendor operation teams.
