About the Opportunity

The Outpatient Psychiatry Team of four is seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join them. The successful candidate will provide direct clinical psychiatric outpatient care for children and adolescents as well as emergency department services in conjunction with the crisis team. The office will be based at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with potential clinics in Digby and Shelburne.

YRH) was originally founded in and has developed into a vast health care complex serving the 60, people of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties. Located in Yarmouth, YRH has inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient and satellite programs :

  • Dalhousie School of Nursing
  • veteran’s unit
  • chronic pain clinic
  • kidney clinic

  • Responsibilities

  • provide care to outpatient clinic for patients under the age of 19
  • participate in program development, like the behaviour disorders and early psychosis intensive program
  • offer consultations to other physicians and rural clinics
  • contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
  • contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned
  • Expected Hours

  • full time, permanent
  • Qualifications

  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the (CPSNS)
  • all specialists must be eligible for certification with the (RCPSC)
  • membership with the (CMPA)
