BCI is hiring a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to architect the secure, scalable infrastructure behind one of Canada's largest institutional investors. You will collaborate with business and technology teams to build andmaintainplatforms that power BCI's global investment operations.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Manager, Cloud Operations & Infrastructure, the Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer collaborates with business and technology teams to develop and implement a secure, reliable cloud operations and services strategy. The roleis responsible forarchitecting, building, andmaintainingsecure andhighly availablecloud andon-premisescomputing platforms and serverenvironments.

This position may be based out of BCI’s Victoria or Vancouver office .

WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or a technical diploma, and / or equivalent experience

A minimum of 6 years of experience with physical and cloud infrastructure preferably including direct experience withAzure

Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Experience designing, developing, and automating the provisioning of resources and system administration functions in the cloud andon-premisesusing Terraform and / or ARMtemplates

Experience in the design of self-healing and fault-tolerant services

Experience with identity and access management

Experience across a variety of Windows technologies including, but not limited to Active Directory, Entra, Exchange, SQL, System Center,SharePointand PKI

Extensive knowledge of OS security, virtualization technologies and storage solutions and the ability to translate this knowledge into secure,practicaland user-friendly solutions isessential

Experience with monitoring platforms such as Azure Monitoring, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring systems

Experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python,Bashor PowerShell

A broad understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security technologies and / or security and technology frameworks is anasset

Demonstratedproficiencyusing AI assistants and / or agentic tools to accelerate cloud and infrastructure development, troubleshooting, and automation, with an understanding of AI workload requirements and infrastructureconsiderations

Strong technical writing and documentation skills

Demonstrated ability to plan,executeand deliver projectresults

Professional certification(s) in cloud computing, infrastructure,developmentor architecture is anasset

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Leads the implementation of a secure platform operational and servicesstrategy

Collaborateswith Technology teams on technical roadmap planning,developmentandimplementation

Develops and implements governance, operational policies,standardsor guidelines to align with industry frameworks and bestpractices

Develops and implements technical infrastructure roadmaps to drive the infrastructure transformationrequiredto support BCI strategicobjectives

Designs, analyses and recommends cloud controls, processes and procedures related to the useof cloud products and services, and monitors forcompliance

Develops requirements for cloud products and services and drives selection, POC, implementation and deployment of cloud products andservices

Ensures that all deployed cloud products and services meet availability, integrity,scalabilityand security requirements of BCI and the Technology Department

Monitors the health of production cloud and on-premises systems, investigates and resolves technical issues, and engages in continuous improvement initiatives andactivities

Orchestrates and automates cloud and on-premises operational management tasks andprocesses

Responsible for ensuringoptimalperformance of infrastructure,serversand services across multiple BCI officelocations

Champions the adoption of AI-assisted workflows across the cloud and infrastructure team, using agentic tools and AI assistants to accelerate solution development, automate routine tasks, and drive continuous improvement in infrastructureoperations

Collaborates and communicates effectively with business and technology teams throughout the service deliverylifecycle

Diagnoses and resolves both routine and complex infrastructure problems through effective root causeanalysis

Develops detailed and comprehensive technical knowledge of BCI’s systems and applications to ensure that infrastructure architecture supports these platforms in an optimizedfashion

Provides expert input to the development of a cloud and infrastructure disaster recovery plan forBCI

Leads, schedules and / orperformsinfrastructure improvements,upgradesandrepairs

Contributes to the development and implementation of project plans at a seniorlevel

Provides technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to teammembers

Proactivelyidentifiesrisks and issues and proposes solutions to removebarriers

Undertakes special projects or assignments asrequired

Provides after-hours production support asrequired

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This role can be based in either our Victoria or Vancouver office. Relocation support is available if needed. We are anin person, collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely one day perweek.

SALARY RANGE

The annualized salary range for this role is CAD $124,000 - $144,000.

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package, including a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, and paid time off. We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we operate and with consideration for internal equity and job structure. The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity. We aim for actual pay to be around the market median for expected performance and the upper quartile for excellent performance. Actual salaries may vary based on experience and expertise.
