Position Information Location Coquitlam Campus Salary Range Salary Range: $33.63 to $38.63 per hour (
Targeted Hiring Range: $33.63-$35.69 per hour). Placement within salary range is based on skills, experience and education. The Opportunity The LINC Coordinator (Coquitlam) contributes to the successful delivery of LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) Stage 1 (levels 1–4) English training at the Douglas College Coquitlam campus.
Working under the direction of the CCSP, the LINC Coordinator collaborates with staff to ensure the Coquitlam LINC program meets contract outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversees daily program operations including class scheduling, attendance monitoring and waitlist management;
- Ensures the achievement of contractual outcomes;
- Provides direction and guidance to instructional staff re PBLA (Project Based Language Assessment), acting as a PBLA Lead for the LINC program;
- Lead program teams and ensure all teams function as a synchronized unit, with clear communication and coordination between instructional, administrative support and if at Surrey, with child-minding teams as well;
- Assist with interviewing for internal program staff as subject matter expert;
- Collect and report on program statistics and provide reports to CCSP;
- Chair or co-chair team meetings with CCSP;
- Review IRCC changes to policy and implement policies and procedures across all LINC teams;
- Assist support staff with iCARE requirements and training;
- Participate in Training Group’s Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015);
- • Participate in community and inter-disciplinary groups as they relate to LINC or language training for newcomers throughout the Lower Mainland;
- Provide support and direction to Clients on an as needed basis; and
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

- Degree, certificate or diploma in Educational Administration, TESL or Program Management is a desirable asset;
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) qualifications which are recognized on the TESL Canada website (required);
- Completion of the Canadian Language Benchmarks Bootcamp training;
- Completion of the Canadian Language Benchmark’s PBLA Lead Teacher Training;
- A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a program setting an asset;
- A good working knowledge of immigrant serving programs including language programming for adults;
- Knowledge of program management;
- Ability to effectively develop and maintain a supportive work environment providing motivation, participation and opportunities for staff initiative;
- Experience in leading program teams, human resources, financial reporting, as well as collecting and reporting program statistics
- Experience in developing an immigrant and language delivery program(s);
- Experience in implementing policies and procedures;
- Experience in working in collaborative models;
- Highly organized, able to motivate others, tactful, consultative, and flexible;
- Must be able to provide a strong, supportive leadership role to staff with a sensitivity and understanding of immigrant needs;
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check;
- Travel within the Lower Mainland is required: access to a vehicle and valid BC Driver’s license or reliable alternative transportation.
Additional Information This part-time contract position (20 hours/week) is located at Coquitlam campus (1250 Pinetree Way) and requires some evening availability.
