Job Description

The Process & Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation and maintenance of the facility. The role involves operating and maintaining the plant as part of a team, including process control, laboratory testing, equipment operation, and basic maintenance duties.

Main Responsibilities :

• Control and operate automatic and semi‑automatic machines and related equipment including pumps, engines, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, centrifuges, chemical feed, etc.
• Monitor flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures, and related controls through instrument panels, computer terminals, and programmable logic control units in the assigned area.
• Monitor and record operating conditions and observations in a shift log.
• Use SCADA for process monitoring and system control to operate various equipment.
• Perform field tests (chemical, physical, and biological) to adjust chemical dosages for process control units or alter unit processes. This includes TS, TSS, pH, and other lab tests typical of wastewater and anaerobic digestion.
• Sample wastewater, sludge, and gases (odor control, digester, etc.) according to schedule.
• Make independent decisions concerning process control changes and direct the activities of other operators assigned to the shift.
• Ensure conformance to process specifications, diagnose basic operational problems, and take corrective action per procedure. Verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances to the supervisor.
• Perform manual labor including filling and emptying machine bins and cleaning equipment, facilities, and grounds as required.
• Practice good housekeeping and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
