Job Description

The shunter works independently and with a team to pick up and deliver products to various buildings in Chateauguay.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service and maintain quality customer relationships.
  • Unload and load metal products.
  • Operate forklift (training and certification provided).
  • Operate straight trucks or trailers safely to transport goods and materials in urban and short inter‑urban routes.
  • Operate trucks and trailers to deliver to U.S. clients (valid passports and U.S. driver’s license required).
  • Conduct routine pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and maintain accurate delivery logs.
  • Verify product delivery at customer location and maintain customer invoices.
  • Follow health and safety procedures.
  • Be flexible to work on shop tasks as needed.
  • Complete other related tasks as assigned.

    • Knowledge And Skill Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract.
  • Physically fit, able to lift, stack, pull, and carry up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
  • Previous professional driving experience preferred.
  • Forklift driver’s card.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature, and road conditions.
  • Fluent in French and English (travel in Canada and the U.S.).
