Overview

Headwaters Health Care Centre is at the heart of medical services for the Greater Dufferin area. It operates as a continuing care facility, offering inpatient and outpatient services, and an Emergency Department with 24 / 7 coverage. It is accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada.

Position Details

  • Position : Part-Time Security Guard
  • Site : Headwaters Health | 100 Rolling Hills Dr, Orangeville, ON L9W 6T6
  • Averaging Agreement : Ontario Averaging Agreement
  • Hours : Saturday and Sunday (1900 - 0700)
  • Payrate : $19.63 / hour
  • Posting Date : January 5, 2026

  • Reports to : Client Service Manager
  • Shift : 3rd Shift
  • Travel : Not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security.
  • Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring suspicious activity is reported immediately.
  • Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, allowing only authorized individuals access to restricted areas.
  • Act quickly in emergency situations such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats, assisting staff during crises and evacuations.
  • Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff, providing directions and ensuring guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and handle all interactions calmly and professionally.
  • Document and report daily activities, incidents, security concerns, or accidents accurately.
  • Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure safety.
  • Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.

    • Prerequisites

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider.
  • COVID Vaccine 2 doses.
  • Proof of up-to-date immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a two-step Tuberculosis skin test.
  • Willingness to complete N95 Mask fit testing during training.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • English (oral / written) fluency is a must.
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
