Position : Transfer Driver (Castlegar)

Schedule : 3 x 12 | Sun, Mon, Tues | 6 : 00pm Start Time

Position Overview

The Transfer Driver will be responsible for the delivery of trailers over established routes to be based out of Castlegar. The successful applicant will be compensated by the daily contract rate.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Transfer Driver will be responsible for transferring trailers based out of Castlegar. The Transfer Driver is expected to operate the vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules and regulations of the road, and following all appropriate company policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Valid Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract

LCV Certification Required (In-house Training Provided)

(Min. 2 years of driving experience; Min. 150,000 kms driven on a tractor trailer)

Must be able to perform winter tire chain up as per company procedure

Mountain driving and highway driving experience is preferred

Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent communication and time management skills

Safe operation of all equipment and Strong mechanical aptitude

A high-level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self directed

Professional demeanor under stressful situations

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to lift, load, push, pull and carry items up to 60 lbs

Ability to work independently as well as assist team members when necessary

High School Diploma or equivalent

Availability for nights and weekends
