AECOM Buildings + Places is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our Burnaby, BC office with hybrid work options.

Job Description

As a Mechanical Technician, you will support the design, coordination, and delivery of building mechanical systems across diverse projects in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Conduct drafting and 3D Revit BIM for building mechanical systems.
• Prepare mechanical system layouts and detailed design drawings using drafting / BIM tools.
• Translate sketches, notes, and mark‑ups into finished design documents.
• Assist in developing engineering calculations and equipment schedules.
• Support project specifications and maintain quality documentation.
• Prepare and submit drawing packages.
• Ensure conformance with code requirements and project standards.
• Operate engineering collaboration platforms such as ProjectWise and BIM360.
• Self‑check drawings and models before submission.
• Participate in field inspections and construction administration as needed.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams across offices.
• Manage tasks with limited supervision while meeting milestones.
• Operate in both office and field settings.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of BC building code, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, NFPA 13, and related standardsli>

Benefits and Compensation
