Quinte Ballet School of Canada (QBSC) is committed to teach, promote, and present the joy of dance at both the professional and recreational levels. Faculty and staff are dedicated to creating an inspiring and supportive environment that nurtures young people. Each summer youth aged 10 to 17 receive over 60 hours of training at our Summer Dance Intensive program in Belleville. Out of town students are housed in Albert College residences.
QBSC is seeking a mature, energetic, and responsible individual, (aged 18 – 25) as a live-in Summer Dance Coordinator from June 5, to July 28, 2023. You are a natural leader and an excellent organizer. You are detail oriented, have a strong ability to remain calm in challenging situations supported by excellent listening skills. You can take initiative when required. You are a people person and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You have your current Standard First Aid, a vulnerable sector check with your local police department or will obtain them prior to the start of the contract and will agree to complete the Worker Health & Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training course. Your love of dance is considered an asset.
This role is the lead position of a team of counsellors that provides supervision and fun to QBSC summer dance students. Students come from across the country to attend QBSC and live at Albert College. The position is responsible for schedules, activity plans, booking travel for weekend excursions, ensuring all students are safe and well looked after while in your care. The Summer Dance Coordinator ensures the safety of all students and counsellors, upholding the rules and regulations of both the Quinte Ballet School of Canada and Albert College
