FCC Construcción, through its subsidiary FCC Canada, has been present in Canada for more than 25 years. In 1998 it was awarded the contract for the construction, operation and maintenance of the Fredericton‑Moncton motorway. In 2011 it was awarded the contract to extend a section of the Toronto subway expansion, the city’s first modern subway infrastructure project, completed in 2019.

In Canada, FCC is proud to be actively involved in multiple projects across Ontario and British Columbia aimed at improving public transportation and infrastructure.

Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS)

FCC Canada, in a 50 / 50 joint venture with Webuild Civil Works Inc., will deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line. This includes design, construction, supply, and operation of three kilometres of twin tunnels beneath Pape Avenue between the Gerrard tunnel portal and the Don Valley bridge, two underground stations (Pape and Cosburn), two tunnel portals, three emergency exit buildings, and a rail switch / crossover near Sammon Avenue.

The Pape Station connection will interface with the Toronto Transit Commission Line 2 subway and related works.

Position Summary

Reports to : Document Control Lead

The Document Control Coordinator Shall Be Responsible For

  • Coordinate all activities related to the Document Control procedure (registration, uploading, transmitting) including technical documents, drawings, and commercial correspondence.
  • Follow up with all discipline personnel for action items.
  • Ensure Document Data accuracy in compliance with implemented procedure and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information and terms of agreement.
  • Manage the flow of documentation within the organization and with external Project entities.
  • Retrieve files as requested by individuals from different disciplines.
  • Create and manage electronic workflows.
  • Review document quality and proactively address issues.
  • Collaborate with other documentation teams to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Prepare ad‑hoc reports on projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Assist in providing training and support to new project team members on document control practices.
  • Identify and escalates system or processing issues to the Document Control Manager in a timely manner.
  • Ensure high accuracy in capturing metadata in both project and client EDMS systems (e.g., Aconex, Unifier) in accordance with reporting and auditing requirements.
  • Meet established turnaround times for processing and distributing documentation.
  • Assist with post‑construction document archival and retention in alignment with Project Agreement specifications.

Education and Qualifications

  • Completion of a post‑secondary education—Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma preferred—or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in Document Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of document control experience in a construction project or site‑based environment.
  • Proven experience in computerized and / or manual document control management, preferably within the engineering or a related industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in document control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Job Requirements

  • Experience in various electronic drawing file formats.
  • Advanced proficiency with applicable software applications such as Aconex, Unifier, Autodesk Construction Cloud, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional, SharePoint.
  • Solid understanding of project documentation and engineering terminology.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Prior experience in using electronic document management (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Aconex and Unifier preferred) as well as in processing both design and vendor documentation.
  • Ability to document work tasks (e.g., work instructions).
  • Experience working in a site / project team environment with the proven ability to build relationships with immediate and remote team members, clients and stakeholders.
  • Prior experience working on a project with Metrolinx preferred.
