Role Overview
This role is a member of the Corporate Tax team in the Financial and Corporate Services Division and reports to the Director, Corporate Tax. The Tax Analyst will have responsibilities in corporate tax compliance, tax provisions and tax planning as well as tax support for various business units and departments. Tax compliance responsibilities include the preparation / review of income, commodity tax returns, insurance premium tax returns as well as assistance on tax audits. The Tax Analyst will also be involved in special projects and key strategic initiatives of the organization.
What You Will Do :
- You will perform corporate tax work which include preparing / reviewing tax provisions, tax reconciliations, income, sales tax and other tax returns, identify tax issues, interpretation of tax laws and regulations. You will also be performing tax research, making tax recommendations, providing tax consulting services, tax planning and analysis, and tax audit support.
- Keep abreast of the latest tax developments, perform tax impact analysis and implement tax changes.
- Review of tax processes and recommend improvements.
- You will work on special projects on an as-needed basis.
What We’re Looking For :
University degree in Accounting, Finance or Master of Taxation (or related field) or equivalent work experience.Foundational understanding of Canadian Corporate tax concepts and ability to research and interpret tax laws with guidancePossess or be working towards a CPA designation would be an assetProficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft excel.Enrollment in the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses or Master of Taxation program an asset.Working knowledge of tax research database (such as CCH Intelliconnect) and Corporate Taxprep software is an assetKnowledge of IFRS tax accounting standards is an assetExpertise You Bring :

For this role, your total rewards include :
