Responsibilities

As a key team member, you will have the opportunity to :

Project Delivery

  • Manage / lead projects for private and public sector clients related to Environmental Assessment (EA), environmental permitting and approvals, environmental management and environmental compliance monitoring
  • Author EA reporting, including Environmental Study Reports, Transportation Environmental Study Reports, Environmental Study Reports, and Environmental Project Reports, and other environmental documentation to satisfy regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions to deliver projects and develop mitigation to avoid / offset negative environmental impacts
  • Develop and lead innovative public and agency engagement programs
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on exciting and challenging projects

Business Development

  • Build client relationships through the identification of market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activities
  • Learning & Development

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Provide input to the career development of less-experienced staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
  • Qualifications

  • A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience, preferably in the consulting industry
  • Experience

    Ideally, your experience can demonstrate the following :

  • Successful project delivery as an Environmental Planner, Project Manager or Environmental Lead
  • Experience managing and delivering Class Environmental Assessments on behalf of municipalities or provincial agencies, such as MTO
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements
  • Experience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous Community engagement programs
  • Experience in business development activities including client development and responding to Request for Proposals
  • Environmental management during construction, including developing environmental management plans, on-site monitoring and documentation
  • Professional designations such as Registered Professional Planner (RPP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are considered to be an asset
