Job Purpose & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technologist will be responsible for :

• The coordination and engineering inspection of municipal capital projects and development as it relates to roads, sewers, water mains, and facilities.
• Reviewing preliminary and detailed design drawing submissions.
• Handling inspections and enforcement of municipal development infrastructure installations,
• Assisting the Transportation Services and Environmental Services Departments with troubleshooting infrastructure related issues.
• Collecting infrastructure data for the City’s geographical information system (GIS).
• Preparation and / or coordination of municipal infrastructure planning reports, implementing detailed analysis of existing and proposed infrastructure, as well as compiling and maintaining the City’s record drawings and infrastructure reports.

This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118 / 016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.

Salary for this position is $44.16 / hr.; hours of work are 35 hours per week.
