Business Analyst

Responsibilities : Requirements Gathering and Business Analysis :

Collaborate with business stakeholders, including scientists, researchers, and project managers, to understand their needs and translate them into detailed requirements.

Analyze existing processes and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

o Data Analytics - Extract and Analyze data, create presentations with meaningful business friendly insight.

Ensure alignment between business goals and IT solutions.

Corporate Communications and Coordination :

Serve as a liaison between business units and the IT team.

Facilitate clear communication by creating and distributing project-related documentation, status reports, and meeting minutes.

Coordinate communication plans for IT initiatives.

Develop content for newsletters, social posting, plasma screen graphics, SharePoint and intranet sites, and video.

Project Support and Coordination :

Assist Project Managers in planning and executing IT projects.

Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.

Monitor project progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.

Coordinate project-related activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Report project progress and deviations from the plan promptly.

Logistics and Events Planning :

Plan and coordinate logistics for company events, including conferences, seminars, trainings, and workshops.

Manage venue selection, catering, transportation, presenter coordination, promotional materials development, signage, and other event collateral.

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless execution.

Oversee presentation technology setup and equipment for events.

Methodology and Best Practices :

Promote adherence to IT project management methodologies and standards. o Create process documents and knowledge articles to promote knowledge sharing across teams & junior members.

Qualifications : Education :

Undergraduate or Graduate degree (in areas related to Technology, or Business / Management is an asset).

Certifications (Preferred) :

CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), SAFE Agile Framework, PMP (Project Management Professional), or equivalent.

Skills :

Strong business analysis skills, including requirements elicitation techniques. o Strong understanding of Excel and PowerPoint o Familiarity with PowerBI, PowerApps, Power Automate is an asset.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong plain language skills. o Prompt engineering and ability to use LLM technologies (, ChatGPT, MS Copilot) is an asset.

Adaptable and highly organized that can keep and drive timelines across initiatives.

Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
