- Provides guidance on the process of accessing clinical research data management software (e.g. REDCap) available through CHI.
- Provides information and resources on setting up and maintaining clinical research databases at CHI.- Enforces REDCap project management processes and account management processes.
- Investigates software solutions for the development and maintenance of electronic databases.- Documents clinical research data management processes and solutions.
- Ensures that technical assistance is provided throughout the database development and implementation phases of a research project.
- Liaises with stakeholders and establishes clinical studies and administrative databases in REDCap, maintains the databases within a secure environment, and provides ongoing technical support.
- Ensures quality data is collected by monitoring the usage of established REDCap databases and adhering to data lifecycle management principles.
- Provides training in clinical research data management.- Develops and delivers workshops, seminars, and other training events and materials to existing and potential users of clinical research data management software.
- Schedules and coordinates training events in consultation with relevant user and stakeholder groups.- Responds to REDCap enquiries from the research community and troubleshoots research database issues.
- Participates in activities to oversee the implementation and maintenance of CHI's clinical research data management software.
- Works with CHI staff to define the mandate, priorities, key activities, and structures of clinical research data working groups established by CHI.
- Provides support for clinical research data working groups established by CHI, sets agendas, and ensures that meeting minutes are maintained.
- Attends and participates in clinical research data user group meetings.- Stays up to date on current developments in clinical research data management software and applications.
- Ensures that CHI staff have up-to-date information about CHI's clinical research data management activities.- Performs other related duties, as : MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION / TRAINING : - Master's degree in data science, epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, health information management or a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE : - A minimum of one-year experience in data collection form design / development and / or database management is required.
Experience with electronic data collection processes is required.- Experience with clinical studies and the associated data collection is an asset.
This may be varied experiences and roles such as study coordination, regulatory coordination, and data entry / management.
- Familiarly with the Personal Health Information Act and the Tri-Council Policy on the Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : - Proficiency in principles and practices of clinical data and databases management is required.
- Working knowledge of research data management software (e.g. REDCap), MS-Office, and statistical software (e.g. SAS and / or R) is required.
- Familiarly with data validation methods is an asset.- Good oral and written communication skills and strong analytical skills are required.
- Ability to set priorities, multi-task and work effectively under time-constrains required. - Must be able to work in complex team environment with researchers, clinicians, and representatives from external agencies, such as government departments.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.- Ability to diagnose and resolve software and system problems is required.
