We are seeking a talented Sous Chef or Experienced Line Cook to join our team at Restaurant Yulan, located in the heart of Downtown Oakville. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional passionate about Asian cuisine to elevate our dining experience and grow with us.
About You
- Experienced in managing kitchen operations while ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety
- Skilled in overseeing food preparation, cooking, and presentation across multiple menus, including volume cooking and fine dining
- Knowledgeable in Asian food preparation techniques; wok handling experience is essential
- Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Positive, approachable, and charismatic in leading and working with your team
- Experience in upscale Asian cuisine is an asset
What You’ll Do
Manage daily kitchen operations to deliver an exceptional dining experienceOversee inventory levels, ordering supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchenLead, coach, and mentor kitchen staff, supporting their development and trainingAssign duties and conduct pre-shift meetings to align front and back of house teamsEnsure food and equipment inventory is secured upon kitchen closingMaintain professionalism and composure, especially during peak service hoursFollow all health, safety, and reporting procedures with diligenceBuild strong relationships with FOH staff, contributing to a cohesive team environmentWhat We Offer

Minimum 3 years of experience as a cook in a fast-paced restaurant settingProven knowledge of food preparation, including raw food handling, charcoal BBQ, wood-grilled oven, and wok techniquesExperience in fine dining is an asset but not requiredStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse teamExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailPassionate about the culinary arts and delivering high-quality dishes consistentlyCompensation & Details
