Crane and Hoist Technician

Company Description Liftsafe Group of Companies is a privately owned company that designs, builds, inspects and maintains lifting, material handling, and fall protection systems equipment.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to fulfill a skilled labour position within the service department which will meet the supply and demand of Liftsafe Engineering and Service Group Inc. As outlined in this job description, the expectation is for the duties, responsibilities and qualifications to be efficiently performed and for this individual to contribute to the overall growth of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect overhead industrial cranes and hoists to ensure safety and compliance with Mfg, OSHA and CSA standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment (strong knowledge of motors).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Provide customer service by acting as liaison between customer and office.
• Repair equipment as required.
• Evaluate and make recommendations regarding repairs.
• Build and maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting methods and techniques for improvement.
• Keep overhead crane systems operating by performing inspections, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, responding to repair calls.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
• Maintain customer confidence by maintaining a good response time, informing customer of problems, and completing the job in a timely manner.
