Our Maintenance Department is looking for a certified 4th Class Power Engineer to join the team!

This is a temporary position with full-time hours that will end at the closing of the facility.

What’s involved in this Power Engineer role :

  • Operating and maintaining the ammonia refrigeration systems within code requirement
  • Operating and maintaining high pressure steam boilers
  • Operating and maintaining wastewater treatment system
  • Monitoring and responding to plant alarms.
  • Performing specific preventative maintenance work and lubrication tasks
  • Updating maintenance logs and records
  • Completing work orders as assigned by Chief Engineer
  • Working with others to plan and coordinate the completion of work.
  • Performing building maintenance tasks throughout the facility as needed
  • Providing a high level of customer service through a proactive approach to daily plant problems and issues
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement, utilizing his / her skills, observations, and participation
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is conducted within Safety, Food Safety, and Product Quality fundamental requirements

    • What you need to join our Winnipeg team :

  • 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate
  • Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills are preferred.
  • Must be physically fit with a good attendance and personal safety record.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team member
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe workplace
  • Good written and oral communication skills essential

    • The successful candidate must be willing to work night shifts including weekend shifts.

    Previous relevant experience in food processing / manufacturing industry is preferred.
