Hartmann Canada Inc, in Brantford, Ontario, is a division of Hartmann North America. We are the world leader of moulded fibre egg cartons. The demand for moulded fibre and environmentally sustainable products is rapidly increasing. Hartmann has committed and invested in this area to meet the growing demand of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer expectations and needs of our product and our capabilities.
- Manage quality complaints and concerns from customers.
- Develop quality control and assurance processes and specifications.
- Identify, investigate, and eliminate product quality issues.
- Ensure all materials, processes, and procedures meet regulatory and quality standards, and promptly resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
- Provide coaching and training to other employees regarding quality issues and changes.
Activity A : Communication and Customer Satisfaction
Provide coaching and training to employees on quality management systems, work instructions and checklists.Mentor and train employees on why quality management systems are in place.Conduct regulatory (food safety in packaging) and quality training sessions.Prepare and maintain quality management documentation, assisting with the development of company policies, processes, and procedures.Create standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations.Vendor engagement, setting requirements for suppliers, monitor compliance and claims management.Activity B : Testing and Auditing
Internal auditing of quality records for accuracy and completeness. Take action to address any nonconformances.Perform regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to quality policies and procedures.Assist with trials within the facility to improve product quality, cost reduction, chemical efficiency.Activity C : Continuous Improvement
Assist the organization with root cause analysis and corrective action development and implementation to address internal and customer related quality complaints.Monitor and report on all activities, processes, and procedures.Make crucial decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.Core Competencies

Minimum Qualifications (Education)
Minimum of B.S. (Bachelor of Applied Science) in Food Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, or related field, or a minimum of 5 years of related quality manufacturing experience.ASQ certification is preferred.Previous Experience Required
5+ years of experience working with quality systems or in a quality related role.Minimum 5 years of professional manufacturing experience.Food safety in packaging experience is desired.Skills, Abilities & Equipment Operated
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Proficient in Quality Management Systems and evidence-based decision making.Strong communication (oral and written) and documentation skills; able to work individually or in a team.Strong client-facing skills / relationship management.What We Offer
