How You’ll Make an Impact :
The Chef Manager oversees daily culinary operations, including food production, menu planning, purchasing, inventory, and cost control, while ensuring strong financial performance and high-quality service. This role leads and develops the kitchen team, drives operational efficiency, supports catering and client initiatives, manages vendor relationships, and ensures full compliance with company standards, food safety policies, HACCP procedures, and all applicable legislation.
As a Chef Manager , you will :
- Manage daily operations of food production including menu planning, purchasing / ordering, inventory, food preparation, and cost management
- Manage financials for the food program including labour cost, food cost, inventory, equipment and materials
- Supervise, mentor, and monitor kitchen team and evaluate performance to ensure a high level of productivity and the best use of team member capabilities
- Establish operating standards, implement quality improvements
- Oversee catering functions and special events for internal and external clients / groups
- Establish and maintain business relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Promote and assist in the marketing of the food program to both internal and external audiences
- Constant analysis of the culinary program; identifying efficiencies and areas of opportunity within our culinary operations
- Meet and collaborate with client initiatives to progress agreed upon efforts and provide feedback
- Ensure compliance of all Company standards and Provincial / Federal Legislation
- Ensure compliance to all Food Safety, Food System Management and HACCP Policies and Procedures
Qualifications
What You'll Need to Succeed :
Red Seal Certification preferred5 years’ experience in Chef leadership roleKnowledge of industry standards and Legislative Policies and ProceduresAbility to work under pressure in a fast paced, team-centric and safety driven environmentProven organizational skills and strong computer capabilities including Microsoft Office useExceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, clients and staff at all levelsProven ability to champion and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with policies while actively encouraging safe practices among team membersAbility to work, problem solve and provide solutions independentlyGenuine desire to provide customer service experiences beyond expectationsA passion for food and for peopleEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of a standard background check and Vulnerable Sector ScreeningAdditional Information
