Role Overview :

As an ETF Market Making Salesperson, you will bridge the gap between our technical market-making capabilities and our clients’ unique needs. Your role will focus on providing ETF structure insights, generating innovative solutions, and cultivating strong relationships through client engagement. You will also take the lead in presenting ideas, selling ETF strategies, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Client Engagement & Relationship Building : Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored ETF solutions.

Sales & Idea Generation : Proactively pitch ETF strategies and innovative ideas that align with market trends and client objectives. Drive sales of ETFs, market-making services, and liquidity solutions.

Technical Expertise : Utilize your deep understanding of ETF structures, mechanics, and liquidity to educate clients and create value-added solutions. Sales trading for institutional clients for all North American listed securities.

Public Speaking & Presentations : Confidently present ETF strategies, market views, and technical insights to clients, both in-person and via digital platforms. You should be comfortable leading discussions at conferences, webinars, and client meetings.

Collaboration with ETF Trading team and other Capital Markets groups.

Market Intelligence : Stay ahead of market trends, regulatory changes, and new ETF launches to provide insightful updates to clients.

Client-First Approach : Ensure every interaction with clients is centered around delivering value and fostering long-term relationships.

Qualifications :

Experience : minimum 3-5 years of experience in an ETF market-making, sales, or trading role, with a solid understanding of ETF structures and market dynamics.

Technical Expertise : Strong understanding of ETF creation / redemption mechanisms, liquidity dynamics, ETF pricing, and the regulatory landscape. Details and results oriented and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, highly pressured work environment. Demonstrated computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Client-Focused : Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients and deliver client-focused solutions. Strong focus on meeting client needs. Confident and credible over the phone and in person.

Presentation Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and confidently. Experience with public speaking or leading presentations is a must.

Passion for Markets : Deep interest in financial markets, with a constant drive to stay updated on market trends and generate innovative solutions for clients.

Team Player : Ability to collaborate across various teams, including trading, technology, and research, to ensure client needs are met efficiently. Need to be personable, growth-oriented and able to thrive in a team environment.

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
