Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain NonStop COBOL and SCOBOL applications in an L Series environment.
Build and enhance online server components (approx. 80% focus) and batch server solutions (approx. 20%).
Implement and maintain DDL definitions, data structures, and file systems.
Collaborate with cross functional teams using Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand ups.
Document solutions using JIRA and Confluence.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance in NonStop environments.
Leverage GenAI / LLM tools for efficiency in analysis, development, and documentation (minimum 1 year experience).
Work closely with architecture, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and support.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years hands-on experience in NonStop COBOL (Tandem COBOL).
3+ years experience with SCOBOL for online screen development.
3+ years experience with DDL.
5+ years experience with NonStop Server L Series.
3+ years experience working in Agile environments.
3+ years experience working with JIRA and Confluence.
Strong understanding of online transaction processing within NonStop systems.
Proven ability to work on both online and batch COBOL servers with an 80 / 20 split preference for Online Server Development.
1+ year practical experience using Generative AI / LLM-based tools for development or analysis.
