Madrona Independent School is a place where gifted, bright and unique learners come to thrive. Our personalized educational program focuses on educating the whole child, from outstanding social-emotional and academic programmes through a personalized learning experience in a nurturing and joyful environment.

Who are we?

We are a small team of dedicated educators who are passionate about working with young learners. We understand both the social-emotional and academic needs of gifted and twice-exceptional students. We value collaboration and flexibility, and we work hard to support one another.

All of our classes are small, and we have a team of talented and experienced educational assistants who work alongside our teachers in the classroom. With a strong, supportive leadership team and a dedicated Learning Resource Department, we work hard to set both our students and staff up for success.

Our students are the next inventors, leaders, scientists and innovators. They are curious, driven and passionate about their interests. They need a creative teacher who can deliver our engaging curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teach prepared lesson plans and lead interactive learning activities
  • Supervise students during breaks (recess / lunch)
  • Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour, respect and safety within the classroom
  • Nurture students’ academic, social and emotional growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate
  • An understanding of the unique needs of gifted / twice-exceptional learners
