Overview
We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our organization as a Financial Controller within our Partners Group. Based in Barrie, Ontario , this role reports directly to the Finance Director and plays a critical part in strengthening financial governance, enhancing reporting reliability, and supporting organizational growth.
As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will oversee core accounting operations, ensure the integrity of internal controls, and provide strategic financial insights that enable informed decision-making. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, values process excellence, and is motivated by continuous improvement.
Position Details
- Start Date : As soon as possible
- Employment Status : Permanent, full-time
- Work Shift : Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Schedule : Flexible – 4.5-day work week (You can finish at noon on Fridays all year round if you like.)
- Work Arrangement : Hybrid and flexible (2 days on-site)
Your Mission
Supervise and coach your team (3 to 5 people) in their daily activities.Participate in the preparation of management reports for leadership.Manage month-end processes and optimize the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.Analyze financial performance and compare results against budgets and prior years.Ensure the implementation and compliance of internal control procedures and policies.Collaborate with various departments to support understanding and application of financial procedures.Participate in special projects aimed at improving finance processes.Conduct financial analyses and evaluate growth initiatives.Prepare the annual audit file and liaise with external auditors.Manage relationships with tax authorities and government agencies.The Talent We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration; CPA designation required .5–10 years of experience in a similar role.Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.Excellent teamwork skills and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.Demonstrates autonomy, rigor, and strong attention to detail.Organized, proactive, and self-directed.Functional spoken and written French (an asset).Experience in the manufacturing industry (an asset).What We Offer
