STC is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.
We are currently looking for a Security Specialist to join our team.
Job Description
What You Will Do
- Develop, update, and implement comprehensive security plans tailored to the needs of a high-profile transit construction project.
- Monitor site access and enforce badge and credentialing protocols for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Coordinate with law enforcement, transit authorities, and emergency services for seamless incident response and security integration.
- Support the security manager in developing and implementing project-wide plans.
- Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and initial steps to incident investigations, recommend mitigation strategies to reduce risk and close gaps.
- Oversee contracted security personnel, ensuring proper training, deployment, and performance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency procedures and incident responses.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training and maintain records.
- Maintain invoices, incident reports, and escalation protocols.
- Participate in safety and coordination meetings to align security with project milestones and phases.
Requirements
Experience You Will Bring
4+ Years of experience in a physical security role – preferably in a lead role.Exceptional leadership abilities achieved through empathy, patience, attention to detail, and firm commitment to solving problems.Capable of managing competing priorities and escalating urgent requirements.Able to identify security gaps and mitigation strategies.Strong proficiency with security technology and systems, including surveillance and access control.Experience in site security for construction, infrastructure, or transit-related projects.Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and incident response strategies. Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment with shifting priorities.Certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional), CPP (Certified Protection Professional), or APP (Associate Protection Professional), or equivalent are considered assets.What We Offer
