The position is responsible for leading the CR team in conducting the work associated with the functions. The position includes developing and implementing performance measures and policy and procedure associated with the functions.
The position is responsible for developing guidance to inform stakeholders and the public about how we conduct our reviews and tools and resources to facilitate improved compliance.
The position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Information Management Governance Committee (IMGC), and as a member of these teams has a number of additional responsibilities.
This position Identifies opportunities for collaboration and team building in support of a cohesive team that understands, respects and supports all team members in their work as well as working with the SLT to build cross-team cohesion in support of a whole-office team approach to the work of the office.
To meet the challenges of this position you will have expert knowledge of Alberta’s access and privacy legislation. You will have significant experience in designing procedures for quality and efficiency, managing cases, and developing and implementing operational policies and procedures. You will also have significant experience in conducting investigations, dealing with parties who are in conflict, and interpreting legislation. You must possess strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to exercise sound judgment and common sense, and to act with integrity and be flexible and open to ideas. As the workload is significant, you must have the ability to effectively set priorities and delegate work when appropriate.
Qualifications
A University Degree in a relevant field (e.g. law, information management, business administration, etc.) with a minimum of 8 years in the access and privacy field with experience in management and leadership positions with a focus on management of staff, investigating complaints and resolving disputes among multiple parties. Related post-graduate degree and / or Industry-standard security certifications would be an asset. Equivalencies may be considered.

Hours of work : 8 : 15 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m. Monday to Friday (36.25 hours / week)
