Overview
Position Description : Security Clearance : Reliability clearance is required - must reside in Canada for 5+ years to be eligible.
Responsibilities
Assist with creation of Conceptual / Logical / Physical Models for data integration, analytics, and reporting
Assist with creation of full design view (integration) of data
Participate in model management and version control of data models
Participate in reverse-engineer source system structures for DW sourcing / landing
Help with design of data architectures; translate data so that it can be read by various types of computer systems
Design and build databases that are used in relation with data architectures.
Assist with developing strategies for archive recovery, database implementation and data acquisition
Maintain databases by restructuring and deleting old data
Create data usage reports to provide to scrum masters
Work with teams and departments to assist in the coordination of future activities and plans that involve computing and data
Identify areas in which policy or procedure changes could assist in the future expansion of businesses
Other related activities and deliverables, as required
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Data Modeler.
Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling. Translate business requirements into comprehensive data models ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
Agile Methodology - Experience in collaborating within Agile Scrum teams. Translating business requirements into database designs that align with iterative development cycles.
Communication and Collaboration - Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders. Facilitating discussions to gather requirements, articulate design decisions, and provide ongoing support to ensure alignment with project goals.
Technology - proficiency and experience with data modelling tools (ER / Studio, ERWin) for common RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server) and schema management (Liquibase, Flyway).
Problem-Solving and Adaptability - Strong problem-solving skills for addressing complex data modeling challenges and optimizing database structures for performance and scalability. The ability to adapt to evolving project requirements, technology advancements, and changing business needs within a dynamic microservice environment.

Demonstrate knowledge of microservice architecture
Demonstrate data modelling using Agile Methodology
Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps implementation experience
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Data Warehouse tools (DataStage, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI)
Demonstrated understanding of Resiliency requirements - Clustering, Failover and Disaster Recovery
Demonstrated ability to analyze, assess and problem-solve, making sound decisions / recommendations
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently while meeting completion dates
Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment
Compensation
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000–$140,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
