Location : Brampton, Ontario

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical / optometric office setting, with a strong emphasis on patient interaction, imaging and performing dry eye procedures.

Duties

• Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing the examination room and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
• Perform tests and imaging in a uniquely diverse and extensive testing environment
• Manage front desk responsibilities, including scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, and handling patient inquiries.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all documentation is completed timely and accurately.
• Provide excellent patient care by addressing concerns and answering questions regarding eye health and optical products.
• Assist with retail sales of eyewear, including frames and lenses, while providing knowledgeable recommendations to patients.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow within the practice.
• Stay updated on medical terminology related to optometry and optical products to enhance patient interactions.
