Basic Purpose :
- Results oriented to produce high quality defensible analytical data, safely and on time by following applicable Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform analyses and complex sample preparation proficiently
- Gain full knowledge with respect to performing analytical procedures and related quality control techniques
Key Accountability / Responsibilities :
Review LIMS summary reports and organize daily workMeet quality and TAT specifications required by the client; ensure samples are analyzed within holding timerequirements
Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling sample mix-up and cross contaminationbetween samples and other materials
Perform routine toxicity analyses and / or complex and GLP toxicity analyses in strict compliance to the requirementsof the Standard Operating Procedures
Responsible for maintaining cultures of bioassay organisms such as, rainbow trout, Daphnia magna, Ceriodaphnia dubia, and various algae. Assist with organism culture troubleshootingAssess and correct problems with all laboratory operations according to SOP guidelines and ISO 17025 regulation criteriaIdentify and document all known sample deviations, non-conformances, and / or process deviations and report to the SupervisorKeep accurate records of all work, ., calibration and maintenance of instruments, water quality measurements,culture mortality and reproduction and test results
Provide preliminary client updates, as requiredInform Supervisor if SOP requires clarification or updates
Participate in internal / external audits, and contribute to MIAs, NSCs, investigations / corrective actions, when requestedEnter and verify data including TOXELN reportingEvaluate and initiate problem solving in all areas of the laboratoryParticipate in developing Standard Operating Procedures and general work instructionsParticipate in the development / validation of new procedures and instruments, as requiredMonitor the laboratory to improve efficiencies and reduce costs in a continuous and ongoing fashionSupport and comply with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program.Maintain training records and relevant qualificationsKeeps work area clean, neat and organizedAll other responsibilities as assignedSkills and Knowledge :
