Position Overview
The Integrity Group of Companies consists of six different business units, with the primary areas of focus including the construction of post frame buildings across Western Canada, supplying framing material packages to homebuilders in Calgary and area, as well as manufacturing. An integral part of Integrity’s Post Structures Department, the Construction Framer will build post frame structures in rural and agricultural areas. This role requires a strong understanding of safety, effective communication skills, the ability to multi-task and work with a team, well developed problem solving, and a general understanding of trades and construction. Operation of various tools and equipment will be required.
Responsibilities
- Install window frames, man doors, greenboard and insulation stops
- Measure and mark materials, such as posts, strapping, and bracing
- Cut materials to required specifications for construction
- Frame windows and doorways, ensuring proper alignment
- Set posts to the correct elevation and position
- Measure, drill, and install wall metal
- Measure and cut gable metal and vents for installation
- Install purlins as part of the roofing structure
- Maintain a clean work area, including unpacking and packing the tool trailer
- Various service calls as required and requested by customers
- Driving / operating and maintaining equipment (scissor-lifts, bucket trucks, skid steer, etc)
- Ensure quality of workmanship, accuracy and efficient buildings to Integrity’s standards
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and quality standards
Minimum Experience
Experience in the construction or building industry would be considered an assetPrior experience operating construction equipment including scissor-lifts, bucket trucks, skid steer, etc. an assetValid driver’s license and the ability to get to work, often to rural locations (not accessible by public transit)Skills / Qualifications
General health and safety knowledge required to be on building sitesGeneral understanding of building constructionGeneral skills and understanding of most common hand toolsSatisfactory verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracy is requiredDemonstrates professionalism, flexibility and ‘can do’ attitudeSelf-starter with the ability to work cooperatively and be willing to assist othersTechnology & Equipment
Class 5 driver’s licenseForklift or other equipment operating certificates an assetTravel
