Job Description

To meet our growth challenges, WSP’s Canadian team is currently seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery team, located in any of our Ontario or Quebec offices.

WSP is a leader in the delivery of clean energy and Power sector solutions to meet the increasing demand for safe, secure, and sustainable energy for Canadians which requires a substantial expansion of the electricity transmission network. In this senior role, you will help bring WSP’s vast expertise, experience, and innovation to support our clients, utilities, and communities in the transformation to a new energy future.

What you can expect to do here

• Lead technical aspects of transmission line design projects (34.5kV–500kV), including new lines, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, structure replacements, and fiber optic additions
• Prepare and review design deliverables, such as plan and profile drawings, material selection, and construction specifications
• Conduct quality reviews of internal and subcontractor deliverables
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects within budget and time constraints
• Evaluate technical options, criteria, and routes for design merit
• Apply knowledge of construction standards for high voltage line work
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure client satisfaction
• Act as Technical Project Management Lead and maintain strong client relationships
• Manage project reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable, and unbilled work
• Develop and monitor scope, schedules, and budgets against plan and contracts
• Ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
• Serve as primary liaison between client and project team; understand client interests
• Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions for project success
• Provide leadership and mentoring to the project team
• Travel to client offices, field sites, or vendor facilities as required
• Support business development activities and participate in proposal preparation
