The IT Network Manager is an experienced and skilled individual that will lead our organization's network infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and optimal performance. The Network IT Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network architecture, while also leading a team of network professionals. The position requires an individual with a deep understanding of networking technologies, strong leadership abilities, and a proven record in managing complex on-prem and cloud network environments.
Supported by the Director of IT Core Infrastructure, the Manager will provide project management leadership and accountability on highly visible and critical IT projects while driving overall strategy. Collaboration with other IT departments, vendors and suppliers is required to build strong relationships.
Role Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Management :
- Design, implement, and maintain the organization's on prem networks and Azure / AWS cloud networking to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment in 80 locations globally running Palo Alto firewalls, HP / Aruba switches and WAPs as well as load balancers, and related hardware.
- Collaborate with the IOT team to determine technology convergence opportunities.
Network Security :
Working with the Cyber Security team collaborate on the develop and enforcement of network security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.Manage Palo Alto intrusion detection and prevention systems on the firewalls to protect the network.Team Leadership :
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a high-performance culture.Provide guidance and technical expertise to team members on network design, troubleshooting, and best practices.Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting :
Proactively monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal network functioning using SolarWinds, Panorama and Aruba CentralLead efforts to diagnose and troubleshoot complex network problems, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors as needed.Network Design and Planning :
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and develop network solutions that align with organizational goals.Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions to accommodate changing business needs.Vendor Management :
Engage with network equipment vendors and service providers to evaluate new technologies, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely resolution of issues.Documentation :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network architecture, configurations, diagrams, and procedures in SharePoint and ServiceNow.Create comprehensive reports and presentations for management to communicate network status, performance, and future plans.Budget Management :
Assist in creating and managing the network IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively, and cost-efficient solutions are implemented.Develop network hardware evergreen plan and budget for replacement as needed.Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are highly desirable.Proven experience (7+ years) in network administration and architecture, with a strong understanding of TCP / IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network protocols.Previous experience (7+ years) in a leadership or managerial role, demonstrating effective team management and leadership skills.Solid knowledge of network security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues and recommend practical solutions.Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.Experience with network monitoring and management tools.Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Experience managing 3rd party vendor contracts and relationships.Project Management fundamentals and applied knowledge is considered an asset ITIL / Service Management experience or 3rd level technical support experience is considered an asset.QuadReal Property Group will provide reasonable accommodation at any time throughout the hiring process for applicants with disabilities or for those needing job postings in an alternate format.
