Duties
The Senior Contracting Officer is responsible for carrying out duties related to all aspects of the procurement process in the acquisition of specialized goods and services, in compliance with all relevant PPS policies and procedures, while providing guidance, advice and support to PPS Client Areas to ensure that the process is effective, expeditious and ethical, and provides the best possible value for PPS.
Work environment
The Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization and is not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. PPS has its own classification, compensation system and staffing regime. Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.

8. Providing strategic procurement advice to both clients and management on contracting issues, including providing advice to ensure that procurement requirements are carried out in accordance with organizational policy requirements.

AED2- University or college diploma in a field related to the position.
