Job Title: Apprentice Pipefitter

Job Description

The candidate will work in a 1:1 ratio with a journeyman to complete pipefitting tasks for a busy compression manufacturer. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, threading, bending, assembling, and installing metal pipes, valves, and fittings according to blueprints and job specifications. The role also involves installing supports, valves, piping, and control systems, as well as performing bolt up, rigging, and hydro testing procedures. Additional tasks will be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a journeyman to accomplish pipefitting tasks.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, and assemble metal pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Install metal pipes, valves, and fittings according to blueprints and job specifications.
• Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
• Perform bolt up, rigging, and hydro testing procedures.
• Read drawings and P&IDs for installation purposes.

Work Environment

The facility is located in the SE industrial area of the city and manufactures a full range of gas compression products. The work schedule is flexible, with shifts from 6-7AM to 2:30-3:30PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime is available after 8 hours in any day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Saturday work is optional after 40 hours in a week. Orientation includes working with a member of the HSE team and a buddy for the first few days before transitioning to independent daily tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.14 - $33.41/hr.
